Register on ESS Utumishi for Tanzanian Public Servants

Which Documents Are Required to Register on ESS Utumishi?

You should have these three documents to register successfully on the ESS Utumishi Portal:

  • National ID Card Number
  • Check Number
  • Email Address

These documents are required to verify your identity. Once you have all these documents, you can start the registration process. If you already have an account, then you can directly login to your ESS portal.

How to Register on ESS Utumishi?

After gathering the above documents, you can register your account on the ESS Utumishi portal by following the five simple steps:

Step 1: Go to the ESS Utumishi Portal

Firstly, start the registration process by clicking this link: https://ess.utumishi.go.tz/sessions/signin. This link will direct you to the ESS Portal.

Step 2: Navigate to the Registration Section

Now, a web page will appear on your screen. You have to click the “Click here to Register” button that is located at the bottom right of your webpage.

Step 3: Enter Your Check Number and ID

Once you click, ESS registration form will display on your screen. You have to provide the following information:

  • Check Number: You have to enter your check number in the upper section of the page. Please note employers provide this check number.
  • National ID Number: Now, enter your 20-digit National ID number in the next section. 
  • Email Address: After providing your ID number, you have to enter your email address in the next section. Please keep in mind that the email must be valid and currently in use.
  • Email Confirmation: In the last section, you have to again enter your email address for confirmation. 

Step 4: Register Your Account

Once you enter all these details, please recheck your provided information to minimize the chance of any mistakes. Lastly, click the “Sign Up” button to complete your registration process on the ESS Utumishi Portal.

Step 5: Receive an Email

Once you click the button, you will receive an email from ESS Utumishi detailing the username and password of your account. This information is required at the time of login. 

Congratulations! You have successfully registered on ESS Utumishi.

What to do if You Did Not Receive an Email?

The main reason for not receiving an email from ESS Utumishi is that you have provided the wrong email address. You have to enter a valid email address to resolve this issue. If that’s not the problem, then check your spam and junk emails. If you are still not getting an email, then you can contact the support team.
